In Alabama's search for a new offensive line coach, Arkansas' Sam Pittman was mentioned as a potential candidate to fill the vacancy.
While the job ultimately went to Mario Cristobal, Pittman didn't exactly leave the rumor mill empty-handed.
According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Pittman has received a two-year contract extension from UA in response to the Tide sniffing around. Pittman is now signed through the 2016 season.
Additionally, Pittman's salary will be bumped to an average of $500,000 annually. Under the terms of his old contract, Pittman had been scheduled to earn $275,000, which means just the rumors of interest on the part of another school netted Pittman a raise of nearly 100 percent.
Pittman has been at UA for just over two months, brought over from Tennessee as part of Bret Bielema's first Razorbacks coaching staff.
