The Steelers have a lot of tough decision to make in free agency this off-season. They also have to make some changes to contracts or the roster to become-compliant-with the NFL salary cap by mid-March. These tough-decisions-will be made, in part, by Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert.
Today, before the start of the NFL Scouting Combine in-Indianapolis-Colbert addressed the media. Colbert mentioned that the combine could affect what they choose to do in free agency based on players they see and where they decide to go with their draft picks. The Steelers possess the seventeenth pick in the first round of the draft and should be able to find a player good enough to step in as a starter with that pick. However, what position they choose to pick and which player are questions that won't be answered until late April.
