According to ProFootballTalk the Steelers have claimed, and been awarded, quarterback John Parker Wilson on waivers. The Jaguars waived Wilson and the Steelers were the only team to put in a waiver claim on him.
He played almost exclusively on the Jaguars practice squad in 2012. For the previous three seasons before 2012 he was a practice squad player for the Atlanta Falcons.
It's unlikely that Wilson will make the Steelers roster in 2013. The most logical reason for his signing is for the Steelers to use him during off-season drills.
As of now the Steelers only have two quarterbacks on the roster with Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger. They are expected to bring Charlie Batch back for another season and they may also look to draft a quarterback in April.
Wilson played college football at Alabama. He holds many passing records at the school and was a three year starter. He has yet to attempt an NFL pass and will have to perform really well this off-season to be on the Steelers pre-sea...
