Shane Lowry returns to a familiar face on the bag ahead of this week’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn.
Lowry summoned caddie Dermot Byrne, who held that role for the first 10 years of the Irishman’s career. Lowry said he reached out to Byrne because he needed a caddie on short notice.
“We’ll see what the plan is going forward. No idea really,” Lowry said, per Golfweek.
Lowry, 39, parted ways with Darren Reynolds after he missed the cut at the U.S. Open last week at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.
The winner of the 2019 Open Championship, Lowry has three wins on the PGA Tour. He has recorded a T2 finish at the 2016 U.S. Open, a T3 at the 2022 Masters, and a T4 at the 2021 PGA Championship.
