Tomas Hertl scored two goals and had two assists and Jack Eichel added a goal and three assists as the visiting Vegas Golden Knights cruised to a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night.
Victor Olofsson also scored two goals before leaving in the third period with an apparent left leg injury, while Mark Stone recorded a short-handed goal and an assist for Vegas.
Carter Hart made 25 saves for the Golden Knights, who completed a sweep of a two-game Pacific Northwest road trip that began with a 3-2 victory at Vancouver on Sunday.
Shane Wright and Jared McCann scored goals and Kaapo Kakko had two assists for Seattle. Joey Daccord, who entered the game having stopped 56 of 58 shots in two wins, allowed five goals on 21 shots before being pulled after two periods. Philipp Grubauer finished up and made six saves, allowing one Vegas score.
Olofsson gave Vegas a 1-0 lead at the 13:02 mark of the first period when Rasmus Andersson’s blast from the right point deflected in off his left skate.
The Golden Knights extended the lead near the end of the period on a power-play goal by Hertl, who slammed in a pass by Stone.
Stone finished a 2-on-1 short-handed break with Eichel with a snap shot from the left circle to make 3-0 early in the second period. It was Stone’s 400th point in 404 games with the Golden Knights, 17 points off the team record of 417 held by Jonathan Marchessault.
Olofsson scored his team-leading fourth goal midway through the period when he snapped a shot from the bottom of the right circle in off the far left post.
Eichel made it 5-0 with 31 seconds left in the period when he stole the puck from Bobby McMann along the boards and then went in on a breakaway and snapped a shot past Daccord’s glove side.
Seattle broke up the shutout at the 4:52 mark of the third period when Wright fired a wrist shot from the high slot past Hart’s glove side.
Hertl extended the lead to 6-1 with a power-play goal after Kraken center Ben Meyers picked up a five-minute match major and game misconduct for a boarding penalty on Olofsson, who had to be helped off the ice.
McCann finished the scoring with a power-play goal with five minutes to go, roofing a wrist shot from the left circle past Hart’s blocker side.
