New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith is under investigation following allegations by a woman in Florida that the 35-year-old player “beat my ass.”
Davie, Fla., police originally said the investigation had been closed but changed course after the woman, identified only as Kristen, posted a series of Instagram videos in which she claimed Smith harmed her.
The videos have all since been deleted, but the woman said in a more recent post Monday that police were in possession of security footage from Smith’s home. The Davie Police Department did not confirm obtaining footage but told multiple outlets an investigator is actively reviewing details of the case for which the department will not produce an incident report until it has been “approved.”
In the third video the woman posted Sunday, she included the statement “charges pressed” as three uniformed officers talked with Smith near his home.
The woman alleges in the string of social media posts that Smith is a “demon” and accused him of neglecting his child with special needs to “play Call of Duty.”
The Jets have not commented on the incident.
Smith is expected to start for the Jets in 2026. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was acquired from the Las Vegas Raiders prior to the draft.
Smith could be subject to NFL punishment under the personal conduct policy even if he doesn’t face charges in Florida related to the allegations.
