The LPGA announced its 2027 schedule on Wednesday, one that earned positive reviews when shared with the players in August.
The primary reasons the players celebrated the slate included an increase of the total purse from $137 to $147 million, 12,000 fewer miles traveled, two events in Hawaii, and visits to courses with added prestige.
The tour revealed the schedule to the players during the week of the FM Championship in Boston at the end of August.
“I’ve never seen players clap the way they clapped for this schedule,” said Ricki Lasky, chief tour business and operations officer. “I had a lot of conversations after the meeting. They were thrilled. They appreciated the routing work which we did to make it more efficient for them as they move around the globe.
“Obviously, they’re excited about the purse growth and how meaningful that is and then the upgraded courses. I don’t think that’s lost on them. They want to play the best courses in the world. They’re so talented and our fans want to see them play the best courses in the world.”
The 33-event campaign once again kicks off with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando during the first weekend in February, which is one week later than the 2026 edition was contested.
A new tournament, the Futu Ladies World Championship will take place at Clearwater Bay in Hong Kong during the first week of March.
That is followed by back-to-back tournaments in Hawaii. The second event, the Lotte Championship, has been moved from October to mid-March and will be played on the former PGA Tour course at Kapalua. It will combine both professional and collegiate players.
The first of five majors will be the Chevron Championship from April 19-25. For the second consecutive year, it will be played at Memorial Park in Houston.
The U.S. Women’s Open will take place at Inverness Golf Club in Toledo, Ohio from May 31-June 6 and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be played at venerable Congressional CC outside of Washington, D.C three weeks later.
The players head for Europe to compete in the Amundi Evian Championship at the Evian Resort Club in France (July 5-11), followed by the AIG Women’s British Open at Royal St. George’s Golf Club (July 26-August 1).
Royal St. George’s Golf Club, located 90 miles southeast of London, will host the women for the first time after the men’s Open Championship has been contested 15 times. Collin Morikawa won the last edition in 2021.
“Our schedule impacts every stakeholder, but our athletes remain at the heart of how we build it,” said LPGA Tour commissioner Craig Kessler in a statement. “Our progress is evident in how our athletes and the entire LPGA ecosystem will move around the world next year, creating more opportunities to rest, recover and ultimately operate more efficiently.
“The venues we play at matter, and we’re adding even more courses that fans will love and recognize. Our players have earned the chance to compete on these stages, and we encourage fans to tune in to watch them do it. The prize fund reflects the incredible collaboration and support of our partners, who keep recognizing the value of our players. We know our players and fans care about all three of these things, and we can’t wait to keep making even more progress in the years ahead.”
